Christie Clinic's department of Pulmonary Medicine is seeking a part-time(32 hours/week), benefit-eligible LPN at the University clinic between the hours of Tuesday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. At least one year of practical nursing experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
JOB DUTIES:
(This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient. Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider. Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc. Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education. Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment. Assist provider with office procedures. Perform allergy testing, as directed. Give injections for allergy desensitization. Perform and administer the injections needed for treatment. Order necessary supplies for therapy, as needed. Maintain drug samples. Maintain MSR's and hospital charges. Perform related work as required.
Required Qualifications: Graduation from a practical school of nursing
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and bodily fluids. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
