Sr. Manager, Subcontracts

The individual will be responsible for executing procurement and subcontracting activities. Excellent written and oral communications skills are key as successful candidate will be working with individuals at all levels including senior and executive leadership.
Responsibilities
Effectively lead a team of 2-3 and ensure the team is engaged, trained and empowered to perform ethically and with high integrity.
Develop trusted partnerships with internal and external customers.
Employ sound business practices.
Supports all phases of Subcontract Management from pre-award to post award to procurement strategy, include participation in make/buy decisions, source selections, development of comprehensive RFPs, proposal evaluation, negotiation strategies, subcontract awards, compliant file documentation.
Provides quality proposal support to include acquisition strategy proposal writing, development of small business subcontracting and participation plans, Supply Chain Risk Management plans, cost/price analysis etc.
Manages performance of the portfolio.
Assess subcontractor/supplier performance individually and in coordination with the programs.
Employs strategies to reduce costs and leverage spend across the enterprise.
Ensures compliance with public laws, government regulations, and Akima policies and procedures.
Identifies areas to improve processes and gain efficiencies.
Limited travel may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or similar and 10 years’ experience.
Leadership experience – at least 2 years managing a team of 2 or more.
Strong understanding of FAR/DFARs and other public laws and regulations.
Experience with Costpoint 8 or higher.
Strong background in compliance.
Strong attention to detail.
Exemplary written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills, ability to listen well and communicate effectively with others.
Proven ability to collaborate across the organization and operate effectively within a matrix environment by resolving conflict and influencing others.
The candidate must possess in depth knowledge of software applications: word-processing and spreadsheets.
US Citizenship is required.
This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Herndon, VA
Pay Range
135,000-150,000
