DescriptionJoin Leidos as a Systems Administrator to support a significant enterprise IT project for the Department of Defense (DOD). We're looking for an experienced professional who specializes in administering Windows servers in both physical and virtual settings. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow administrators to address service inquiries and tackle problems efficiently. Your responsibilities will include investigating incidents, recommending corrective actions, and implementing solutions to restore services promptly. You’ll also evaluate recurring issues, offering proactive solutions to prevent their reoccurrence, and assess the existing infrastructure for performance improvements.Be a part of a team dedicated to ensuring operational readiness in a large, multi-enclave environment. This position may involve conducting technical software configurations, rebooting servers, and taking other necessary remedial steps to maintain server uptime.Why Leidos?Leidos champions an exceptional work-life balance, allowing you to make an impact while caring for your well-being.We offer numerous opportunities for career development and advancement.Key Responsibilities:Administer, monitor, and provide technical support for Windows operating systems in both physical and virtual environments.Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain IT systems, distinguishing between individual user issues and broader enterprise problems.Lead analyses of incident tickets to gather data, develop solutions, and implement effective resolutions.Document and develop solutions for complex technical challenges.Provide detailed follow-up reports for Root Cause Analysis and initiatives aimed at process improvement.Support customer needs in a 24/7 operational environment, including after-hours on-call support during outages.Maintain and update operations and monitoring documentation for 24/7 Operations Watch teams.Ensure the security and management of Windows servers across multiple production environments.Tackle complex integration and technical issues within the Windows and Hyper-V frameworks in a fast-paced setting.Essential Skills and Qualifications:Fundamental knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services and the cloud ecosystem.Experience integrating Windows environments with monitoring solutions like Microsoft SCOM, SolarWinds, and Splunk.Familiarity with Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) concepts and solutions, such as Dell VXRail.Extensive experience with Tier 2 system administration of Microsoft Server operating systems (2012 R2/2016/2019/2022).Knowledge of supporting virtual desktops across Linux, Microsoft Windows, and MacOS.Advanced scripting and automation proficiency, particularly with PowerShell or other scripting languages.Experience troubleshooting within evolving environments.Comprehensive experience in log reviews, incident analysis, and trend identification.Knowledge of server patch management methodologies using SCCM/MECM.Experience configuring and managing SAN block storage for Windows servers.Experience applying security management practices using DISA STIG for Windows Operating Systems.Capable of managing time effectively and working independently in an IT Service Management system (ServiceNow).Adept in triaging and properly classifying incidents, prioritizing work efforts accordingly.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proven ability to collaborate within a team and support peers to enhance processes and outcomes.Must meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP).Education:A Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience, an Associate’s Degree with 10+ years, or a Master’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience is required. (12 years of additional experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree).Clearance:Due to the nature of government contracts, US Citizenship is mandatory.TS/SCI clearance with a willingness to obtain and maintain a specific polygraph is required.Desired Qualifications:Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or MCSA.Experience configuring SAN block storage for VMware virtual servers.Familiarity with troubleshooting within a McAfee security environment.Insight into backup and restoration processes using NetBackup, VMware snapshots, or other backup solutions.Original Posting Date:
