Job Summary/Basic Function
About This Role:
The Associate Dean of Engineering Student Success provides strategic and operational leadership to enhance student success, enrollment, retention, and graduation rates within the College of Engineering. Reporting to the Dean and collaborating closely with the Divisions of Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Student Affairs, the Associate Dean oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic support, advising, and co-curricular programs. This role also actively pursues external funding, fosters collaborative partnerships, and supports initiatives in alignment with the College’s mission, vision, and goals.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
Academic Support & Co-Curricular Management: Oversee and enhance academic support and co-curricular programs, including tutoring, advising, peer/faculty/industry mentoring, career counseling, and transfer and pre-college programs. Develop and promote initiatives that increase engineering enrollment, engagement, and student retention.
Funding & Resource Development: Actively pursue external funding opportunities to support and expand engineering education and student success initiatives.
Data Analysis & Strategy Development: Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and opportunities, develop student success strategies, and set departmental goals aligned with the College’s strategic objectives. Assess program effectiveness and support ABET and SACS - COC continuous improvement efforts.
Collaboration & Partnership Building: Establish partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including education, business, health, and industry partners, to expand student support resources. Collaborate with local agencies and non-profits for additional services and organize events to enhance student engagement.
Co-Curricular Activity Oversight: Manage co-curricular and student activities, such as student organizations, honors, and internships. Assess and create new activities to enhance student engagement and success.
University Representation & Service: Serve on university and college committees, collaborate with educational institutions and professional organizations, and participate in recruitment, enrollment, and retention events. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Physical Requirements:
Able to lift 25 pounds and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.
Job Conditions:
This role may require occasional evening or weekend hours to support events and student activities, flexibility in adapting to a dynamic work environment, and compliance with the university’s policies on confidentiality and professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Bachelor’s degree must be from an ABET -accredited engineering program.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in higher education, including at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
Evidence of ongoing professional growth in engineering or a related field.
Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service and a student-centered approach.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to student success and engagement.
Proven ability to analyze data and use it to develop student success strategies and departmental goals.
