**Responsibilities**

Responsible for performing patient evaluations reviewing pretreatment teaching recommending therapeutic intervention counseling patients and families and collaborating with appropriate physicians to provide other appropriate direct care interventions within the scope of practice for physicians assistants in collaboration with the Thoracic Disease Program Director. Provider would serve as primary point of contact and assumes responsibilities for managing the care for patients.

+ As necessary performs and documents; admissions, discharges, History/Physicals and Progress Notes.

+ Participates in multi-disciplinary rounding with physicians and coordinators daily; 1-2 X/day.

+ Coordinate care with care management, facilitating transfers and discharges.

+ Provides care for scheduled lung transplant (pre/post) patients in the clinic.

+ Coordinates care of lung transplant clinic patients with RN Transplant Coordinators.

+ Participates in department reviews and academic activity, including department meetings and conferences.

+ Coordinates clinic operations with transplant RNs and clinic staff.

+ Participates in patient education and counseling.

+ Ensures compliance/regulations for billing and documentation and other standards.

+ Precepts/mentors/educates new clinic and hospital staff (i.e.; Boot Camps).

**Qualifications**

**MINIMUM**

Minimum 3 years clinical experience in related area or specialty field.

Background in pre-med.

Degree as a Physician Assistant

Must hold and maintain:

(1) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License,

(2) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant,

(3) Valid DEA registration,

(4) American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and

(5) American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider.

**Pay Range**

$56.83 - $95.47/hour
