Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Perinatal clinical nurse is a professional, role based Registered Nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of woman and infants in all phases of their childbirth experience and provides care to these patients using the nursing process in accordance with the standards of professional nursing practice. The clinical nurse performs in the professional role as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN); engaging in activities related to ethics, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality improvement, leadership, collaboration, professional practice evaluation , resources utilization, environmental health, and patient advocacy as appropriate to Perinatal clinical nursing practice.
The expectation is to float between Ronald Reagan (RR) UCLA and Santa Monica (SM) UCLA L&D and couplet care units as censes needs require with main responsibility to RRUCLA Perinatal Units.
Salary range: $59.46-$88.39 hourly

We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:
* Current California RN license required
* BSN or MSN required
* 2 years or more of perinatal RN experience required
* NRP required
* BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required
* Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis
* Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral patient assessments
* Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family, and staff
