They deliver support through onsite assistance, remote solutions, and help desk services, ensuring quick resolution of issues and guidance on district initiatives. Key responsibilities include enhancing technology effectiveness, data risk management, and privacy education. The specialist also develops curriculum technology plans, collaborates with educators for training, and connects with community groups to demonstrate technology's impact on learning. Essential Job Functions: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including printers. Manage user accounts and passwords, maintaining accurate records. Track and monitor problems until fully resolved to ensure technology functionality. Perform regular maintenance on technology equipment. Collaborate with technology staff to address outstanding technical issues. Update inventories of school technology and district hardware periodically. Handle confidential information with care and professionalism. Participate in summer projects, including hardware refresh and deployment. Assist teachers in effectively using technology to enhance learning. Develop and implement curriculum technology integration plans and support staff in identifying technology needs. Research and disseminate best practices, products, and resources to enhance instructional technology use. Facilitate training for teachers, students, and staff on effective technology integration and instructional tools. Collaborate with district administrators and curriculum committees to align technology with educational goals. Act as the primary resource for interactive whiteboards and support district communication through digital platforms. Assist in grant proposals related to instructional technology and provide hands-on technical support as needed. Other duties as assigned Knowledge and Skills Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, working professionally with students, staff, and the public. Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to problem-solve technical issues independently. Utilize discretion and sound judgment while exercising initiative in various tasks. Possess in-depth knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite and strong troubleshooting capabilities. Have a working understanding of TCP/IP networks and experience with Cisco switching equipment. Troubleshoot and configure various hardware platforms, including desktops, laptops, iPads, and printers. Show strong knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS, Android, and Linux. Experience in onsite desktop support, computer imaging software Plan, coordinate, and implement district curriculum technology projects and programs while collaborating with staff on integration strategies. Engage with various stakeholders, including faculty, students, and community members, to address objectives and goals. Present complex materials clearly in individual and group settings, effectively responding to questions. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Demonstrate knowledge of instructional technology, best practices for classroom integration, and relevant state and federal mandates.Establish and maintain professional relationships while defining and collaboratively resolving problems related to technology in education. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School diploma, required Technology Degree preferred or 2-3 years of experience in the field COMPTIA certification, preferred Bachelor's Degree, preferred Work Year: 12 month Primary Location: Hillside School, 4804 Harrison Street, Hillside, Illinois 60162 Salary and Benefits: Salary range $40,000 - $48,000 based upon experience and education, Vacation and Sick Days, and Health Benefits Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and climb ladders.
