Assembly Technician II - Vehicles and Trailers

SALARY RANGE: $24-$30 Per Hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must demonstrate proficiency in all Assembly Technician I duties
Highly proficient at working with hand tools & power tools
Demonstrated high level of skill in Assembling & installing various vehicle components including shelving, cabinetry, lighting & electrical, generators, satellite equipment
Perform assembly tasks at a pace and quality level that is above and beyond that of an Assembly Technician I
Read and interpret schematics & engineering drawings
Maintain a clean & organized work area
Manage workflow efficiently to meet production deadlines and maintain a steady output.
Report to operations supervisor on issues, defective parts, and malfunctions for assigned work area
Partner with coworkers of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds

Personal Effectiveness/Credibility & Ethical Conduct
Intermediate to advance Problem solving skills, formal training preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mentor and train assembly technician I employees, providing guidance technical expertise to improve overall team performance
Ensure 5S goals set by supervisor are being met in assigned work area
Monitor station timing on the assembly line and escalate critical slowdowns to supervisor
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a manufacturing facility and will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes at minimum).
There is a fabrication shop located on the premises as well, so it will be quite noisy at times.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee will be standing for much of their shift. Ability to lift 50 lbs. This position will work with fiber glass and sheet metal.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm. This position is not eligible to work remotely due to the nature of work. Overtime may be required on occasion.
TRAVEL

REQUIRED EDUCATION, LANGUAGE, AND EXPERIENCE
3+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or related field.
Great attitude and a willingness to mentor and train others.
Experience in lean manufacturing, 6Sigma and continuous improvement a plus
Understanding of 5S is preferred, but not required
