Los Angeles, CA.Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled

Network Engineer

to join our Los Angeles team, to support our client, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) with their Capital Improvement Projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing, configuring, and maintaining complex networks. You must be proficient in network troubleshooting, security, and performance optimization, with hands-on experience in routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies. A strong background in large-scale enterprise environments is preferred.Key Responsibilities:Network Design & Implementation:

Design, implement, and optimize high-availability, high-performance networks that meet business requirements.Configuration & Maintenance:

Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment to ensure seamless network operation.Troubleshooting & Support:

Provide advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution across various network platforms (LAN/WAN).Network Security:

Implement and monitor network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.Performance Optimization:

Conduct network performance analysis and implement strategies for optimization (e.g., load balancing, QoS).Documentation:

Maintain accurate network diagrams, inventory lists, and configuration backups. Document troubleshooting steps and solutions.Collaboration:

Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure network projects are completed on time and to specifications.Capacity Planning & Monitoring:

Proactively monitor network capacity and performance metrics to predict future needs and ensure network scalability.Vendor Management:

Coordinate with external vendors for network-related services, troubleshooting, and support as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:Certifications:

CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert)CCST (Cisco Certified Support Technician)

Experience:Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering roles, with a strong focus on enterprise networks.Experience in large-scale, multi-site network environments.

Expertise in Network Protocols:Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and VPN technologies.

Networking Equipment:Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls (ASA, FTD), wireless devices, and network monitoring tools.

Security & Troubleshooting:Strong experience in network security protocols, including VPN, IPSec, and firewalls.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple layers of the OSI model.

Preferred Skills:Advanced Network Design:

Experience with designing enterprise-level networks, including redundancy, load balancing, and disaster recovery strategies.Cloud Networking:

Familiarity with cloud-based networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).Automation & Scripting:

Basic knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python) for network configuration and management.Wireless Networking:

Experience with deploying and managing wireless networks, including Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs).SD-WAN:

Knowledge of Software-Defined WAN technologies.

Skills & Attributes:Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
