The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the technical and support functions of a defined laboratory section and for the day-to-day operation of that section. The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of technical and support personnel within the section and is the primary technical/clinical resource for staff. Works with the Laboratory leadership team and pathologists in the research, development, and implementation of new clinical/technical procedures. Assures appropriate training and competence of staff. Identifies problems and opportunities for performance improvement, waste elimination, and cost containment. Works with other leadership staff within the facility as a representative of the laboratory section. All job duties shall be performed in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws, JCAHO, CAP, AABB, and FDA regulations/standards.Requirements
