The MICU is 12-bed unit caring for acutely ill medical patients and the SICU is an 8-bed unit caring for acutely ill surgical patients.Nurses are trained to interpert dyshyrhmias, balloon pumps, Impellas, CRRT, etc, and are involved in miscellaneous bedside procedures.In the SICU, the nurses will be required to undergo extensive training in the recovery and care of an immediate post-op open heart patient. A variety of trauma, thorasic, vascular and abdominal surgey cases are also managed.Both units have cotinuous bedside monitoring in all patient rooms to faciliatate accurate and close monitoring.Nurses also manage vasoactive medications for blood pressure issues along with sedtion for those who are ventilated.Nurse patient ratio is 1:2 and varies some depending on acuity.Annual educationa nd compenticy is provided.
Qualifications
Education:Diploma from an RN program.License(s)/Certification(s):Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Within 6 months of hire, must acquire and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Must maintain annual unit specific educational requirements as specific educational requirements as specified by Nurse Manager.#RNpositionsQCArea of Interest:
