Responsibilities
Demonstrates expert knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup including sterilization methods.Supports physician’s surgical practice in a variety of procedures including a specialty in the operating room.
Functions as a team member in planning for special needs of patients.Consistently demonstrates performance in a manner conducive to safe, efficient and swift completion and turnover of a surgical procedure.
Ensures accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments used in all procedures at all times.
Responsible for completing basic OR Tech competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies.
Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service”.

Job RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentGraduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based programSix (6) months experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unitCPR CertifiedPreferred Job RequirementsCertified OR Tech1 year OR experienceCORT or CST
