DescriptionThis is an academic position in the practice and teaching of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine tomedical students, residents and allied health professionals.Examples of DutiesTeaching 10%1. Participate in the development and implementation of specific undergraduate curricula inpediatric critical care medicine.2. Participate directly in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Residency training.3. Participate in continuing education programs in pediatric critical care medicine for boththe clinical faculty and for practicing physicians in the area.4. Represent a role model for students and residents as a teacher and in practicingpediatric critical care medicine.
Service (Patient Care) 85%1. Demonstrates, by actions, commitment to the mission and the behavioral standards ofSIU School of Medicine. Provides excellent service to both internal and externalcustomers through collaboration and partnership; compassion and respect; integrity andaccountability; diversity and inclusion; as well as continuous learning and improvement.2. Set an example to future practitioners of highly-skilled and conscientious practice ofpediatric critical care medicine that is balanced with self-education and other academicactivities.3. Participate in the sedation service program at St. John's Children's Hospital.4. Act as Pediatric medical control for St. John's CONNECT and the pediatric transportteam when on call.5. Maintain a clinical practice in pediatric critical care medicine in order to enhance clinicalproficiency.6. Participate in peer review for assessing clinical practice skills for faculty within theDivision.7. Attend national meetings and symposia in pediatric critical care medicine and relatedfields for the purpose of contribution, acquisition of additional knowledge, and as anexample to other physicians.8. Represent the Division and/or Department and attend meetings as requested by theDivision and/or Department Chairman.
Research 5%1.
