Smartsheet is looking for an experienced leader to manage large programs driving data democratization and self-serve across the Smartsheet workforce.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing large, cross-functional projects, data analytics, data ingestion and cleansing, productizing data, people leadership, and working with stakeholders across a company. This role will work closely as a member of the management team and partner with stakeholders across the organization to ensure we are enabling data democratization utilizing data to drive decision making.
You will report to our VP of Data Science and Business Intelligence located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
You Will:
Lead an analytics engineering team with vision and execution to productize data and ensure data accessibility for the BI Team, company leadership, and stakeholders across the organization
Work together with BI Analysts and Data Scientists, both within the BI team and across teams, to create a framework for organizing the combination of products, reports, and research in an accessible and consumable format for stakeholders across the company
Drive strategy and evangelism for enabling data self-serve and data democratization across the company leveraging tools such as dbt, Snowflake, Thoughtspot and Tableau
Own data governance and data quality in our Snowflake source of truth database
Enable data discoverability and data literacy for all teams across Smartsheet through making data findable and documented across internal tools
Build, manage, and lead a team to meet department objectives ensuring employee performance and ongoing development
Systematically clean and transform data to enhance our data source of truth usability for stakeholders across the business
Understand Smartsheet's business model and functional objectives in order to guide data productization efforts to empower execution and data-driven decisions
Develop cross-team relationships across functional leadership and our team of BI Partners to ensure we are meeting existing analytics needs and prepared to meet the needs of the future
Support other duties as needed
You Have:
10-12 years of prior technical program management experience
5-7 years of prior experience in Analytics Engineering and/or Data Science
5-7 years of people management/team leadership experience or similar relevant industry experience
Deep understanding of Data modeling techniques like Dimensional and Data Vault
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill information for audiences at all levels
Worked in a SaaS organization that uses microservices to build the product and have experienced the challenges of integrating data from these microservices
Project and program management experience
Systems mindset with experience in data automation and productization
Critical thinker with analytical and financial skills; strong sense for business success
Excellent problem structuring, identification and resolution
Hands-on experience with SQL, dbt and Snowflake

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity and some roles may be eligible for a RSU stock grant upon accepted offer.US Pay Range $195,000—$247,500 USDGet to Know Us:
