Basic Job Functions: Assists in the implementation, support, monitoring and troubleshooting of over Microsoft Windows servers, VMWare and a variety of storage arrays. Primarily takes direction from more senior people. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent years of work experience Minimum 1 - 3 years of related work experience Required Skills/Competencies: Experience and/or working knowledge of Windows and VMWare software. Entry level knowledge of server hardware (Dell, Cisco UCS and others a plus). Experience should include monitoring, installation, configuration, tuning and management. 1 - 2 years of experience with Storage Area Network environment desired. 1 - 2 years of experience with a 24/7 Datacenter Environment desired. 1 - 2 years of experience with Microsoft SCOM/SCCM Server desired. 1 - 2 years of experience with Vmware ESX Server desired. Entry level knowledge of enterprise level SANs (3par, EMC, etc.). Basic knowledge of backup and storage concepts including Avamar and Data Domain a plus. Knowledge of storage tuning, gathering data and presenting storage statistics to support required/requested storage-based performance initiatives Knowledge of 3PAR's "Thin Provisioning" Knowledge of SAN Replication Technologies. Knowledge of patch management practices for a Microsoft Windows environment and 3par. Working knowledge of ADFS and AD a plus. Working knowledge of Cloud and different offerings (SAS,IaaS, PaaS, etc.). Key Competencies: Installs or removes hardware and/or software, and associated connections, using supplied installation instructions and tools. Conducts tests and corrects malfunctions, calling on help from more experienced colleagues if required. Documents result in accordance with agreed procedures. Assists with the evaluation of change requests. Contributes, as required, to investigations of problems and faults concerning the installation of hardware and/or software and confirms the correct working of installations. Monitors service component capacity and initiates actions to resolve any shortfalls according to agreed procedures. Applies techniques to modify demand for a particular resource or service. Monitors service delivery performance metrics and liaises with managers and customers to ensure that service level agreements are not breached without the stakeholders being given the opportunity of planning for deterioration in service. Develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change. Applies change control procedures. Uses the tools and techniques for specific areas of release and deployment activities. Administers the recording of activities, logging of results and documents technical activity undertaken. May carry out early life support activities such as providing support advice to initial users. Reviews system software updates and identifies those that merit action. Tailors system software to maximize hardware functionality. Installs and tests new versions of system software. Investigates and coordinates the resolution of potential and actual service problems. Prepares and maintains operational documentation for system software. Advises on the correct and effective use of system software. Investigates minor security breaches in accordance with established procedures. Assists users in defining their access rights and privileges and operates agreed logical access controls and security systems. Maintains agreed security records and documentation. Investigates problems in systems and services. Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Collects and collates evidence as part of a formally conducted and planned review of activities, processes, products or services. Examines records as part of specified testing strategies for evidence of compliance with management directives, or the identification of abnormal occurrences. Essential Responsibilities: Primary Responsibilities: Coordinate changes to production servers with key application stakeholders Monitoring Daily and Weekly backups. Manage the deployment of server operating systems and virus protection patches. Evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues. Create, modify and maintain server documentation with an emphasis on detail. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to server on-call on a periodic basis. Reporting Relationships: This role reports to the IT Lead. Travel: If hiring to a new plant prior to plant start, associate will be required to spend extended time (60-80%) in another plant in either Ohio or Alabama for training until their assigned plan starts equipment installation Estimated Salary Range: $59,000-$84,000 Annually US Physical Requirements: Office Physical Requirements: All positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
