Business Development Account Manager
will play a key role in the Alternative Power space with Donaldson filtration technology. This position will drive growth and unlock new opportunities in a changing market, broaden relationships at many levels and functions (internally and externally), and act as the customer advocate within Donaldson. Ideal candidates will be able to work out of our
Bloomington, MN
office with the ability to travel up to 50%.Role Responsibilities:Proactively progress accounts through the sales process and grow the pipeline with a focused group of targeted accounts.
Attend industry focused events to understand regulations driving the market and customer direction.
Execute the strategy to become a leader in alternative power.
Effectively respond to and complete a variety of customer and internal inquiries independently.
Prepare and summarize account analyses including financials, profitability, and pricing reviews.
Be a market leader by applying Donaldson's Strategic Account Selling framework, principles, and tools.
Deeply understand the customer's business model, value drivers, careabouts and needs.
Build strong relationships with multiple functions and levels within the customer based on trust and respect.
Identify and collaboratively prioritize opportunities (internal/external) to create higher-order customer value (beyond the filter) and accelerate profitable growth.
Manage the direct sales, RFQs, product development programs, etc. of assigned customers.
Includes leading regularly scheduled project update meetings with customers to ensure commercial program alignment, requirements, and timing. Organize and lead internal activities regarding meetings and reporting on program performance, major milestones and required actions.
Execute independently the customer strategy and negotiations.
Develop and recommend market strategies and action plans to improve market share and ensure long-term profitability.
Utilize and leverage existing CRM tools to support management of account.
Travel:
Up to 50%Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, communications, engineering, or related field.
3+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably in B2B.
2+ years of business development experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Self-starter, highly motivated (hunting mindset)
Previous experience managing multiple OEMs
Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics or related CRM systems
Previous Filtration related industry experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills
Strong presentation and negotiation skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
