Job Summary: In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration. Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures. Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties. Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements Major Responsibilities: Subcontract Management Implements the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule which records the Project's agreed assignment of various subcontract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract Management Manages assigned subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, and other major matters Manage moderately complex contract changes by negotiating with customer personnel and obtaining settlement Subcontract Formation Conforms and ensures subcontract execution Directs negotiation in the commitment of subcontracts Develops and issues subcontracts and services agreements as assigned Prepares bidders' lists and pre-qualifies bidders Forms bid request packages and issues bid request packages to approved bidders Coordinates bidders' questions and answers to those questions Receives bids and evaluates bids commercially Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations Recommends and secures approvals in accordance with established procedures Prepares subcontract documents for execution Prepares and organizes assigned meetings, such as pre-bid, bid clarification and pre-award meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and contractor on all contractual matters After reviewing plan and agenda with supervisor, conducts meeting and prepares and issues meeting notes delineating important statements, required actions and schedules Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Thorough knowledge of (sub)contract administration, home office and field procedures and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction project. Demonstrated experience in formation and administration of construction-related contracts is required. Proficiency in phases of the formation and administration of contracts and contract agreements, including types, terms, legal requirements, planning, and subcontractor schedule performance and management Knowledge of change management procedures pertaining to Requests for Information (RFIs), change notices, change orders, amendments, and claims and dispute resolution. Skilled in working with and communicating effectively both orally and in writing with other project functional groups, including Project Management and other Service organization Leaders. Basic knowledge of procurement regulations, policies, and practices. Strong ability to prioritize and stay organized.
