Position: Budget Manager Position Type: Direct Hire Location: New York Reports to: Director - Budgets & Inventory Status: Exempt Job Summary : PIC has a growth driven opportunity for an experienced Budget Manager supporting a fleet of power plants in the Northeast. The Budget Manager reports directly to the Director - Budgets & Inventory and will be responsible for properly evaluating, analyzing, developing, executing and reporting the operational budgets of individual power plants. The Budget Manager is responsible for supporting the management of individual plant budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking of Operations & Maintenance, Capital Expenditures (CAPEX), and Major Maintenance activities of the fleet. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : • Works with Plant management personnel to develop, track, and report station level Operations and Maintenance, Major Maintenance and Capex budgets. • Works with Corporate Engineering department to develop and track Capex, Major Maintenance and Development projects. • Supports the Corporate Operations team with financial analysis, reporting and creation of sophisticated presentations on a variety of projects. • Produces monthly financial and operational reports. • Schedules monthly meetings with plant management and Corporate Operations to discuss financial results. • Collaborates with plant accounting groups and support them with month-end closing activities • Maintains direct working relationship with plant personnel, accounting and procurement managers in the corporate office and other facilities as required. • Collaborate and solve problems - works with others to resolve significant issues, clarify, or interpret complex information, provide initial screening/negotiations. • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all contracts, and can maintain working relationships with legal counsel, internal auditors, government agencies, vendors, as required. • Maintains an understanding of power plant revenues on an ongoing basis. • Be able to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Job Requirements : • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of personnel. • Demonstrated analytical thinking skills as well as deductive reasoning skills. • Prior working experience in providing continuous improvement suggestions. • Proficient with writing and delivering presentations that are succinct and professional. • Ability to work on multiple projects and teams at one time, using proven organizational methods and techniques to track updates and changes as they occur. • Prior hands-on experience using BI applications such as Tableau or Power BI. • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, with focus on advanced level skills with both Excel and Power Point. • Prior hands-on working experience with ERP/EAM solutions such as Hexagon, Maximo, SAP, Vena, Dynamics GP and NetSuite. Education / Experience : • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Finance, Business, or Economics • 7 years of relevant on the job experience in a similar position. • Candidates with a strong desire to pursue CPA or other financial professional designation who want to grow their career with a dedicated organization are encouraged to apply. Within this range, employee pay will be determined by a combination of factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and overall performance. As this job posting is available in multiple locations, the expected pay scale may vary depending on the specific geographic area.
