Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Manger, Strategic Offer Development, this position facilitates the Contracting Lifecycle process supporting BD Strategic Customer Group (SCG) contracts including GPO, IDN and Channel Management.
As a member of the SCG Offer Development team, the Contract Consultant will contribute to the formalized process of a contracting capability within the CoE. Working in partnership and collaboration within the Commercial and Customer Operations, the Strategic Customer Group sales team, Commercial Integrators, cross functional Business Partners and Legal, this role supports US Region policies, processes, and governance of BD’s Strategic Customer Group contracts to ensure the effective implementation of critical contract activities and manage business opportunities and risk appropriately.

Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with all phases of SCG Offer Development contracts lifecycle including intake requests, execution, amendments, extensions.
Track required clauses and draft SCG Offer Development agreements in contract lifecycle management tool.
Work with the Sr. Manager, Strategic Offer Development to ensure contract terms are negotiated in accordance with established BD standard T&C policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Weighs contract risk to the businesses and provides solutions for successful contract awards.
Partner with key business stakeholders to recommend and execute ongoing business process continuous improvement and simplification activities.
Develop, maintain and update training material and desktop procedures related to automated tools/applications.
Provides direction to appropriate Commercial and Customer Operations teams for successful contract implementation, life cycle management, and facilitating price load notifications.
Responsible for meeting submission deadlines for agreements such as GPO, IDN and Channel Management.
Provides crucial data for determining contract renewal disposition.
Triage GPO/IDN/Channel related issues for various business units and field teams, providing critical input and conflict resolution guidance.
Maintain high levels of responsiveness, timeliness, and accuracy in contract dispute resolutions.
Maintain strategic contract information in CLM tool and SharePoint site, providing accurate executable information across the organization.
Cultivate a positive work climate that fosters collaboration, innovation, and alignment with BD Values.
Takes personal accountability for one's own decisions, elevates risk as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, providing cross coverage to other areas of GPO Offer Development.
Produce and distribute monthly/quarterly/ad hoc reporting from CLM tool.
Qualifications
BA/BS required (in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of experience in the applicable area).
Strong problem solver with business insight.
Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization.
Effective communicator and a self-motivated teammate capable of working in a fast-paced work environment.
