POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Worker must be able to perform and prioritize a variety of routine receiving, returns and shipping, production and housekeeping tasks in a safe and productive manner.
LEVEL OF AUTHORITY:
This position performs routine duties independently in accordance with established policies and procedures. No supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most of the work is performed in a warehouse environment. The employee may regularly work near moving mechanical parts, in an area with moderate noise levels.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
RECEIVING DUTIES:• Receives and unloads a variety of incoming trucks• Verifies receipt of items against packing list.• Records and checks quantity and quality of incoming product.• Inputs work orders into the computer.• Verifies returns as core, defective, warranty and other categories.• Records and checks quantity and quality of incoming returns.• Prints pick pack slips (pps) for orders that the parts were received.• Assigns primary and secondary location in warehouse.• Unpacks, sorts, counts and labels parts that are to be received.• Inspects product for vendor labels then re-box and/or remove labels.• Stocks shelves and secondary locations in warehouse.
SHIPPING DUTIES:• Pull Order for shipment in accordance with pick pack slip and customer requirements• Understands truck freight, UPS and packaging.• Assembles production work order parts and package parts as needed.• Inspects product for damages and notifies supervisor.• Sort, count and label parts that are being shipped,• Foam product before shipping when needed,• Pull order for shipment in accordance with pps requirements.• Looks at product for damages, missing parts and/or other quality issues and notifies supervisor.• Assemble production work order parts and package parts as needed• Follows all departmental procedures and policies. Recommends changes to procedure for supervisor approval.• Follows all safety rules and regulations; keeps work environment clean and free of hazards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES:
Technical• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.• 2-5 years materials management or leadership experience.• Ability to perform basic calculations; add, subtract, multiply and divide.• Excellent time management skills.• Pass and maintain forklift certification.• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.• Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders. Move up to 600 lbs using a pallet jack.• Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently (Level 4 Heavy Work).• Ability to stand and walk, mount and dismount forklift and powered equipment.• Ability to stand and walk around the warehouse to stock bins. The ability to listen to and understand information through spoken words and sentences.• Ability to use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal.• Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity sufficient to manipulate hand tools and power equipment.• Ability to see detail at close range.
