Network Engineer

at Terrestris do?

The Network Engineer plays a key role in driving the long-term direction and growth of the organization by developing comprehensive strategies that address business challenges and capitalize on opportunities. This individual works closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to ensure that the organization's vision, goals, and objectives are achieved. This role will provide Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ (JB MDL) on-site network support services for the existing Cisco Synchronous Optical Network (SONET), Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM), and other associated JB MDL SONET network infrastructure.

What does a typical day look like for a Network Engineer?

A network engineer's day is generally a mix of network monitoring, network maintenance, troubleshooting, trouble resolution, cutting over circuits identified by the Government to the Cisco Synchronous Optical Network (SONET), and installation of new circuits. Network Engineer will develop, update, and maintain logs for maintenance, and troubleshooting.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the person we're looking for if you have:Documented experience in Cisco SONET/DWDM, Wide Area Network, Metropolitan Area Network, and Local Area Network technology.CompTIA SEC+ certification (required).United States citizenship (required)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
