Responsibilities:

Our Corporate team may not provide direct care, but we still touch people's lives in a very real and substantial way. The services we provide contribute greatly to the overall patient and member experience, supporting our reputation for excellence.

Manage the Privacy Program for MJHS, its participating agencies, and Elderplan. Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies and procedures for MJHS, its participating agencies, and Elderplan, in compliance with all applicable privacy regulationsCollaborate with the MJHS and Elderplan Compliance departments to develop privacy program training contentOversee administration of new-hire and annual privacy and security training for all staffPerform ad hoc live, department specific privacy training upon request or in response to privacy incidentsReceive and respond to reports of all potential privacy incidents, including documentation and investigation, root cause analysis, and HIPAA breach analysisConduct privacy risk assessments to identify potential privacy non-compliancePerform routine auditing and monitoring in response to risk assessment results and to ensure staff are adhering to privacy policies and proceduresInvestigate potential non-compliance identified through auditing, monitoring, patient complaints, hotline reports, direct reports, or other meansParticipate in HIPAA enterprise risk assessments, third-party vendor risk assessments, and other risk management activities as necessaryComplete other duties as assigned by the VP, Compliance & PrivacyQualifications:

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Health Information Management, Compliance, Law, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.5 years' experience working in healthcare privacy, healthcare compliance, healthcare information security, or another related field.Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or similar privacy certifications preferred.Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, New York State, and other applicable privacy laws and regulations, and healthcare privacy best practices. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present to and communicate with staff at all levels, attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
