Job Description
What We Need Accomplished
The Hotel Viata Director of Food and Beverage is the head of the F&B department and is responsible for ensuring that all equipment, facilities, and staff are held to a high standard of excellence in executing food preparation and delivery. The F&B Director is responsible for: • Maintaining adherence to policies and procedures as set forth by Pacific Hospitality Group relating to employment, environmental health and safety laws relating to the operation of food, beverage and guest room facilities • Working closely will food and beverage managers and staff to ensure the success of each outlet • Develops an operating budget for each of the department's revenue outlets • Monitor and actively influence cost management and revenue generation for each outlet • Develop and mentor outlet managers • Actively engage with employees throughout the hotel ensuring that they are providing exceptional service • Ultimately responsible for all Hotel Viata's Food and Beverage outlets banquets, catering and the retail shop in the lobby • Ensures a positive work environment for all employees and high levels of engagement and job satisfaction • Leads safety efforts for the F&B discipline • Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays What You Will Bring • A management style that is approachable, open minded and fair • Minimum of 3 years F&B management experience, preferably in the luxury setting or upscale hotel • A strong understanding of overall hotel business with the ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities and/or information in order to improve new practices or develop new approaches • Passionate, energetic and self-motivated individual who can deliver exceptional service • Supervise full-time staff and seasonal staff members • Conduct regular inspections of the outlets to identify areas that need repair or improvement. • Work with other departments to ensure smooth operations of the hotel.
Great If You Have • Minimum 3 to 5 years previous luxury / upscale hotel experience in a related field • Leadership & management skills to motivate and mentor employees • University or College Degree in Hospitality, Business/Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Culinary, Food Service management, Event Management, Hospitality Management, Management, Restaurant Management
