Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for driving sales and promoting the use of Diesel Exhaust Fluid products within designated markets. This role involves developing strategic sales plans, managing customer relationships, and collaborating with marketing teams to increase market share.
Essential Functions
:
Develop and execute a comprehensive DEF product strategy aligned with business objectives. • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities for product improvements or new offerings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Logistics, Engineering, Operations) to ensure product quality and performance meet industry standards.
Partner with internal stakeholders to develop go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and effective product shipping lanes.
Drive sales efforts by providing product training, technical support, and market intelligence.
Identify key accounts and develop long-term relationships with customers to drive DEF sales growth.
Work with Basin Electric legal and middle office departments to negotiate contracts with strategic partners that fit within the company’s risk tolerance
Monitor customer needs and feedback to ensure DEF products align with market demand and plant capabilities.
Analyze competitor offerings, pricing, and market share to maintain a competitive edge.
Work with internal stakeholders to create compelling messaging, sales tools, and campaigns for the DEF product line.
Provide strategic analysis on competitive landscape and justification for product vision, projects, and market opportunities.
Collaborate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure reliable sourcing and distribution of DEF, including right-sizing railcar fleet.
Manage inventory levels, forecasting, and product availability to meet customer demand.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for DEF production, packaging, and distribution.
Monitor DEF product line profitability and manage budgets to achieve revenue and margin targets.
Prepare and deliver regular reports on product performance, sales results, and market share.
Lead budget and financial forecasting activities for DEF, as well as opportunity analysis compared to urea fertilizer product line.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, supply chain management, engineering or a related field; and
Eight years’ experience in product management, sales, trading or business development, preferably in fuels, fertilizer, lubricants or chemical industries.
Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the automotive or industrial sectors.
Strong knowledge of Diesel Exhaust Fluid and related products. Regulatory compliance experience, preferred
Demonstrated success in managing product lifecycles and driving sales growth.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills.
Good negotiation and relationship management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. CRM and/or ERP systems experience preferred.
A valid driver’s license.
