Position Summary
Champions revenue cycle optimization initiatives across Weill Cornell Medicine to improve processes and support revenue cycle performance. Includes a thorough understanding of systems, clinical department coding and billing guidelines to proactively identify opportunities for revenue cycle improvement and developing and executing these plans.
Job Responsibilities
Assists in developing strategies to improve overall revenue performance.
Develops standardized approaches for operational issues, reporting and analysis quality management.
Demonstrate ability to process qualitative or quantitative Revenue Cycle data from ancillary data sources to structure meaningful reporting to draw insightful conclusions that drive revenue cycle optimization.
Works closely on EMR system issues as required improving flow of revenue data.
Focuses on issues that will positively impact financial performance. Provides updates on industry issues regarding coding and reimbursement practices. Assesses impact of new regulations or codes from a coding, compliance and reimbursement perspective.
Collaborates with Physician Organization Managed Care Office to initiate and manage Payer reimbursement disputes to resolution.
Manages clinical practice's expectations regarding financial performance. Research issues and presents findings to administrators for process improvement.
Monitors performance to ensure financial and departmental posting benchmarks are maintained.
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Experience
Bachelor's Degree or experience commensurate with job requirement.
Medical Coding Knowledge (CPC preferred)
Approximately 3 years of analytical related experience in physician billing or practice management, preferably in an academic medical center.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Competence in EPIC reporting, Power BI, Cognos, or alike reporting tools.
Excellent oral and written communication and inter-personal skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.
