Sierra Sage Academy
is a residential treatment program in Yerington, NV for young women that provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment. The program serves vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Sierra Sage as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Exercises supervisory responsibility for daily Group Living Operations.
+ Serves as the site RAC in the absence of the Program Director, and Directors of Group Living/Student Services.
+ Oversees and monitors the facility and daily schedules to ensure all students and staff are in compliance and on time for all program elements.
+ Monitors and supervises site operations throughout the day to ensure safety and security of staff and students and proper supervision is maintained. Including but not limited to:
+ AM and PM Programs.
+ Dining room.
+ Units (inspection ready checks).
+ Outside student movements.
+ Proper staffing of classrooms; including vocations.
+ Sports practices, 3 mile runs, 18 x 20s.
+ Concerns (site specific) and/or IOT to support safety and security.
+ Student meetings.
+ Security of buildings.
+ Log entries and safe operations.
+ PREA and Incident Reporting.
+ Ensures proper student/staff ratio compliance.
+ Oversees cost control relating to overtime, supplies, and/or staffing.
+ Oversees logistics for and assists with facilitating all extra-curricular and community service activities, off-site travel and student transportation, if applicable.
+ Oversees weekend student visits to ensure Rite of Passage policies and procedures are maintained.
+ Assists with Pre-Service Training when necessary and provides on-going training related to operational or student issues when needed.
+ Leads monthly fire drills and documents for auditing purposes. (Site specific).
+ Ensures proper safe physical management techniques are followed at all times and assists other staff with emergency situations.
+ Supports all de-escalation issues with staff and students.
+ Ensures restraint documentation is correctly written and submitted to the appropriate parties.
+ Ensures debriefing is complete with any student and/or staff involved in physical intervention.
+ Provides management and leadership knowledge, skills and abilities to supervised staff and all other staff.
+ Supervised Staff: Manages, hires, trains, develops, approves time and attendance, evaluates, disciplines, and investigates issues relating to violations of safety, violation of Policies and Procedures, conduct, ethics and ROP norms and culture (as a minimum).
+ Designates staff to support other departments such as Education, Medical, Food Service, etc.
+ Maintains an inventory of clothing and hygiene products; makes purchases as necessary (Site Specific).
+ Performs duties of the medical staff in their absence including student medication distribution (Site Specific).
+ Completes required reports and documentation in a timely manner, provides management with required reports and advises of any problematic situations. Examples of reports:
Monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI), weekly report for Site Management review.
+ Complies with and implements the Rite of Passage Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals/handbooks.
+ Ensures all ROPSTAT entries are accurate and entered in timely manner.
+ Ensures the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to ensure the program remains in compliance with agency licensing and Rite of Passage policies and procedures. Provides input and submits proposals for the revision of existing and/or new policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's degree in Public/Business Administration, Behavior Science, Counseling, Secondary Education, Health, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social/Human Services OR any equivalent combination numbers of years' experience, education and/or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Military experience and training is acceptable.
+ Three (3) years of experience in a juvenile treatment (Residential, Behavioral, Dentition, Corrections, etc.) Related and/or equivalent experience may be substituted with approval.
+ One (1) year supervisory experience.
+ Current Staff in this position must have completed Tech 22 and ROP Essential Subjects Training in Operations, Treatment and Human Resources.
Outside applicant selected must complete this same training within 6 months of hire date.
+ Must meet all individual state specific licensing requirements in addition to ROP requirements regarding education and experience.
+ Supervisory experience preferred.
+ Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver.
Must possess a current State Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
+ Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test

Weekend days and overnights required during the scheduled shift.
On call at night for emergencies and support supervision.
