Job Description
As a Mechanical Assembly/Wiring specialist, you will be responsible for building switchgear, control boxes, and control centers for various municipal projects, including NYC subway projects, airport train systems, and the San Francisco Subway system. This role involves mechanical assembly of large power supplies using hand/power tools, rivet guns, pneumatics, and following work instructions and blueprints. You will work both individually and as part of a team of 5-10 assemblers. Attention to detail and good hand dexterity are crucial for this role.
Responsibilities
Assemble switchgear, control boxes, and control centers for municipal projects.
Utilize hand/power tools, rivet guns, pneumatics, and work instructions/blueprints for mechanical assembly.
Collaborate with a team of 5-10 assemblers and also work independently.
Ensure attention to detail and demonstrate good hand dexterity.
Perform physical tasks such as kneeling, bending, climbing, and crawling.
Read or be trained to understand blueprints.
Essential Skills
Experience in electrical assembly and wire harness assembly.
Proficiency in light mechanical assembly and wiring.
Mechanically inclined with the ability to read blueprints.
Experience with panel building and blueprint reading.
Good hand dexterity and attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must be able to climb and take precise measurements.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

Work Environment
This position operates on the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays and Saturdays. There is also a weekend shift from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Friday through Sunday, with a 16% shift differential. The first day includes an orientation from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. The work environment involves physical labor, and conditions can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Dress attire includes jeans, a t-shirt, and steel-toe boots.
