Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Senior Accountant for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position will assist withpreparation and submission of invoices to the US Government and other customers. These invoices include progress billings, milestone billings prepayments, delivery invoices, T&M (Time and Material) invoices, and cost plus invoices. The Senior Accountant will also prepare schedules of billings, liquidations and contract status. In addition, this position will facilitate detailed analysis schedules to assist with monthly closing activities.Job Responsibilities
Perform complex tasks to include non-standard reports and analysis of the impact of various projects and transactionsAudit accounts to ensure adherence to corporate policyConduct cost systems studiesEnsure integrity of expense, tax, insurance, overhead, accounts payable & receivables, and special fund amountsMay lead tasks or aspects of a task or project; provide guidance to less experienced staff membersRecommend improvements to accounting policies and proceduresSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationApply principles of accounting to monitor and analyze financial information, and prepare specialized reportsBalance books and prepare accounting statements (i.e., profit/loss, income, cash flow, etc.) and schedulesRecord assets and liabilities and other financial transactionsMaintain records of disbursements and expensesReview accounts and reports for accuracyMay contribute to the design or modification of accounting systemsContribute to improving processes and procedures that accurately capture, track and report on financial transactionsEnsure adherence to and communication of accounting policies and proceduresQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5+ years directly related experience, preferably in a government contracting environment (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience)Working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, CAS & SOXStrong computer skills (MS Office Suite, Oracle & Costpoint experience preferred)Knowledge of account reconciliation processes, tools, and proceduresSolid problem solving skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong customer interface skillsU.S. Citizenship required.Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
