JOB SUMMARY:

Performs and coordinates distribution, inventory, equipment, charging and record keeping functions. Responsible for executing accurate inventory procedures in Pyxis, freestanding carts, specialty carts and emergency drawers per established assignments. Performs a truing up of inventory prior to refill through hand-held devices or Lawson inventory sheets. Manages supplemental orders. Ensures products on shelf is within manufacture expiration dates and works with departmental leadership in monitoring fast and slow moving products. Participates in departmental cycle counts and annual inventories.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or GED.EXPERIENCE

One to two years' experience in Material Supply Distribution, preferably in a healthcare setting.PRE-REQUISITE SKILLS

Knowledge of medical supplies, terminology and equipment procedures.Knowledge of basic inventory management concepts and terminology.Ability to read, write and speak English.Ability to perform simple mathematical functions and to write and print legibly.Ability to demonstrate good customer relations and to maintain a professional demeanor.Ability to handle a large volume of detailed work accurately.Working knowledge of shifts, including weekends and holidays.Must be able to work effectively as a team member and contribute positively toward the overall goals of the Department.LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL (not modifiable)

Performs inventory management duties, monitors department inventory, generates inventory orders, communicates with Supervisor regarding product file changes and inventory par level adjustments and participates in periodic physical inventories.Answers telephones, does routine filing, maintains records and statistics as required. Maintains clean and orderly work and storage area.Receives and stores all supplies in correct location or delivers to appropriate department.Uses Hospital established computer system to input charges, maintain item file, download hand-held computer par level counts or enter hard copy counts. Process data, pick print tickets and monitor data accuracy. Compares pattern files and the procedure master for synchronicity.Maintains durable medical equipment, returns excess rental equipment, orders rental equipment as needed and reconciles invoice for rental equipment.Checks items for expiration dates in the near future and rotates stock forward. Par levels match notebooks and handcart sheets.Demonstrates a warm, positive, congenial demeanor and good communication skills while working with co-workers, patients, visitors, family and physicians in order to meet the needs of the customer and accomplish the goals of the Hospital.Adheres to hospital service standards and behaviors.Maintain and implement hospital and department policies and procedures. Assists in recognizing and documenting safety and emergency incidents.Maintains cycle counts for areas of responsibility.SECONDARY (modifiable)

Acts as liaison with delivery service for receipt of goods. Signs for, receives, and distributes all material and equipment into the Hospital.Responsible for making arrangements for any good requiring shipping or courier service in the absence of the Receiving Specialist.Maintains logs, file receipts, verifies and reconciles invoices.Receives goods into Hospital established computer system and transfers back order line items into holding status as needed.

The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on the individual's skills, experience, internal/market equity factors, and qualifications. This posted minimum and maximum range represents the minimum and maximum of what we reasonably expect to compensate for the position. Furthermore, all compensation decisions are ultimately determined in accordance with our compensation philosophy.
