Job Description

Shift: Day - 8 hours, Sun-Thurs, 40hrs/weekWork location: Onsite; Redwood City, CACompensation: $70 to $80 per hourDuties and Responsibilities

Assesses and treats within CA licensing Board and National Board of Occupational Therapy scope of practice; provides direct patient care that meets department and professional standards of practice.Examines, evaluates, and tests patients with mechanical, physiological, emotional, cognitive and developmental impairments, functional limitations, and disability or other health-related conditions.Develops, implements, and modifies therapeutic use of everyday activities to enhance or enable participation in roles, habits, and routines in home, school, workplace, community and other settings; selects and administers appropriate assessment and treatment techniques; performs age appropriate competency skills in area of practice with fundamental skills in clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and interventions.Determines magnitude and impact of the impairments, prognosis, plan of therapeutic intervention and appropriate frequency/duration of interventions.Evaluates for, recommends, applies and, as appropriate, fabricates movement- related assistive, adaptive, protective, prosthetic and supportive devices and equipment, and trains patients in their use; fabricates orthotic and adaptive devicesOrganizes and maintains a patient caseload that meets/exceeds department productivity standards; schedules patients and informs manager if barriers ariseEnsures documentation/billing are timely, accurate and complete, including assessment, plan of care, progress notes, discharge summaries, and charges; documentation reflects patient status, participation by patient and family in goal settingDischarges patient from treatment when appropriate with adequate discharge planning including discharge recommendations, equipment procurement and family training, and communicates plan to patient, family and team.Selects and administers appropriate assessment and treatment techniques; addresses client factors (body function and structures, values and beliefs) and performance skills (motor, process, and social interaction) while considering contexts and environments ; performs ageAppropriate competency skills in area of practice with fundamental skills in clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and interventions.Participates in interdisciplinary care planning including participation in rounds and patient care conferences, communicating with and teaching other care providers; contacts community agencies as necessary to provide continuity of service between hospital and community.Participates in Department, team, and discipline and/or unit meetings.Job Requirements

Education Qualifications

Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy curriculum with either a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degreeExperience

At least 1-2 years related experience inLicenses and Certifications
