A small logistics company in Annapolis, MD is seeking an experienced and qualified CFO.Responsibilities
Oversee the following processes:Vendor paymentsPayrollRevenue recording & accounts receivable collectionCash forecastingManage the company's accounting employeesRecord, pay & reconcile tax liabilities (Sales tax, payroll taxes, etc.)Oversee vessel charter financial operationsParticipate in booking, pricing, and ad hoc revenue collectionCoordinate billing, expense reimbursement, and client funding; supervise VAT and sales tax assessment, collection & remittanceEnsure currency exchange conversions are recorded properlyManage the financial reporting processEngage with department heads to prepare the Annual Profit/Loss budgetMonitor & analyze budget deviationsPrepare and analyze monthly profit/loss statementsAssist with planning for major capital improvementsProvide ad hoc reports as necessaryDevelop & maintain the company's system of internal controls to safeguard company assets & ensure compliance with legal and ethical business practicesPerform account reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial dataProvide financial training as appropriateSupervise the year-end closing processInterface with governmental & external auditorsMaintain the Chart of AccountsRemain current on industry trends, regulations & best practices in financial managementAssist the President on financial and investment analyses & oversightMonitor derivative investment cash flowsAssist in cash management decision making and reportingTrack lending facilities principal & interest paymentsAssess funding needs for business unitsParticipate in tax planning and associated financial planningEducation/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting10+ years of accounting experienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Finance; CPA designation preferredProficient in appropriate business software
