Federal Financial Management - Senior Accountant
Location : Remote; Limited visits to HQ in Springfield, VA
Roles and Responsibilities:Provide Federal accounting technical support to TSAReview, research and reconcile obligation, de-obligation, and refund transactions associated with expired and unexpired appropriations for potential PYA recognitionReview and reconcile IPAC payable transactions dailyMonitor, analyze and reconcile Statement of Custodial Activity relevant General Fund Receipt (GFR) account activity, as well as advance and prepayment transactionsPrepare monthly accounts receivable accrual and reconciliation for security fees, and semi-annually review the methodologyMonitor and prepare reports on TSA prompt payment activityPrepare periodic analysis and reconciliation of FBWT, GL balances, obligations and appropriationsSupport agency compliance with DATA Act reporting requirementsPrepare journal entries and TIER adjustments for postingProvide recommendations for improvement to accounting processes in compliance with Federal Accounting guidanceSupport internal and external audits by providing assistance with preparing responses to audit requestRequirements:
Bachelors Degree Accounting5+ years Federal Financial Accounting experiencePublic Trust ClearanceMust be familiar with FASAB, GAAP, and USSGLProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Must have experience with transactional accounting, journal entries or journal vouchers, account research and reconciliation, FASAB, GAAP, USSGL, Microsoft ExcelExcellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.Strong analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills.Ability to interface professionally with the client and provide expertise as needed.Ability to effectively work as part of a remote team.Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.Active Public Trust or a US citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
