The School of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Facilities Project Manager to join their team.The University of Washington, School of Medicine (SoM) is recognized as one of the top medical schools in the nation. The Facilities Project Manager is a crucial member of the SoM Office of Facilities, responsible for facility planning, design and construction, space planning and management, project coordination, asset management, and facilities maintenance and operations. Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Space Planning and Project Management, the Facilities Project Manager represents the interests of the SoM in support of the short and long-term facility needs of the School of Medicine.The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for capital projects, working with SLU property management, UW campus facilities construction and maintenance, UW project delivery group, and HMC facilities team. This is a full-time on-site position, primarily based at SLU and UW main campus. This position must develop and maintain positive working relationships with UW Facilities and outside construction industry professionals to ensure consistent and effective delivery of capital projects.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProject Development & Management (85%):
Provide planning and design services for department space planning and construction remodel projects. Maintain all project documents and update internal project tracking systems weekly.Manage SoM construction/renovation projects in conjunction with SLU, UW, and HMC facilities teams, ensuring adherence to construction scope and schedules.Work with UW Facilities Maintenance & Operations to address and resolve facilities infrastructure failure issues.Maintain daily ongoing communications with the SoM Office of Facilities team and UW Facilities.
Space Information Management (5%):
Provide support to ensure Space Manager space assignments and classifications are accurate.
Construction & Finish Standards (5%):
Work with unit managers to develop and maintain construction specification standards.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%):
Assist the Senior Manager, Space Planning and Management, and other Office of Facilities leadership as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Planning or related field (experience may substitute for degree requirement).Minimum 4 years of planning, project coordination and production experience.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSWork independently to effectively manage competing priorities.Demonstrated skills in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other relevant software.Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of wet lab research and academic environments.Interior design experience.Application Process:
