Job Summary

RECESS - HP Grant - The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for recruiting new and Pre-Health Students into the College of Health Sciences and Pharmacy. This position will assist with student retention, student engagement and provide resources and program support services to students.

Job Description1. Leads outreach and recruitment efforts to internal and external constituents, in an effort to increase enrollment in Health Sciences.

2. Identifies prospective participants by visiting and partnering with a schools, agencies, and organizations.

3. Will work with the Enrollment Management and the Admissions team to facilitate easy transition into the university.

4. Provides group presentations about Health Sciences majors.

5. Advises on a variety of topics including admissions, financial aid, career planning, etc. that lead to the increase in college enrollment.

6. Responsible for tracking and assessing yield from various recruitment events and progress toward enrollment into the college of Health Sciences.

7. Data entry and the maintenance of a database that contains participant data.

8. Creates student recruitment events and Health Industry events and opportunities to speak about Health Sciences to Pre- Health students.

9. Maintains participant engagement through various social media platforms (pictures, stories).

10. Submits monthly/weekly reports/travel logs.

11. Tracks student progress for student success.

12. Recruits and supports the Health Professions Explorers Summer Camp.

13. Performs other duties as specified by the Grant Coordinator.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree

Experience working with economically disadvantaged or culturally diverse populations. Comfortable traveling and presenting to diverse communities. Valid driver's license and car insurance as position requires traveling throughout the city and suburban area.

Preferred QualificationsExperience in a university setting.

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent presentation skills.

Physical Requirement/ DemandsOccasional standing, lifting/carrying promotional items, banners, table set-up items, can/roll lift 15-30 lbs. if needed. Events may occur outdoors.

Work EnvironmentField work, office setting, comfortable working at various Chicagoland/Indiana neighborhoods.
