Job OverviewA prominent law firm based in Santa Rosa, California, is seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney with a focus on employment law, specifically wage and hour Class and PAGA lawsuits. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in employment litigation and be capable of handling complex legal matters, including case analysis, legal research, drafting pleadings, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. The position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile cases with a collaborative team while further developing legal expertise in a supportive and dynamic environment.LocationSanta Rosa, CADutiesRepresent clients in court and legal proceedings, focusing on employment litigation.Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, CEB, and other tools to support case development.Draft and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs.Prepare cases for trial, including organizing evidence and developing strategies.Participate in settlement negotiations and arbitration on behalf of clients.Provide clear and tailored legal solutions to clients.Stay informed on updates and changes in employment law and related legal areas.Maintain accurate records of case progress and client communications.RequirementsMinimum 4 years of experience in employment litigation, including wage and hour Class and PAGA lawsuits.Experience in commercial litigation is a plus.Ability to review, analyze, and develop legal strategies for complex cases.Experience in trial preparation, motion practice, and discovery procedures.Strong research, writing, and communication skills.Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.Second-chair trial experience is helpful but not mandatory.Billable hour requirement of 1,650 hours per year.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.CertificationsLicensed to practice law in California (required).Oregon Bar license is a plus but not required.SkillsExtensive knowledge of employment law, particularly wage and hour issues.Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings and conducting legal research.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail and organizational skills.Spanish language proficiency is preferred.
