Based in COWI's headquarters in Løren, Oslo, and reporting to the Senior Vice President, Head of Group Legal, you will oversee legal support for both countries within COWI Group’s central legal function, "Group Legal."Group Legal comprises 35 team members across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Dubai, the UK, and Canada, providing comprehensive legal services throughout the COWI Group. As the Department Head of the legal teams in Norway and Sweden, you will lead a department of four lawyers and be a strategic partner to the leadership teams in Norway and Sweden, collaborating closely with the senior management on a variety of legal matters essential to advancing COWI’s goals in these regions.On a day-to-day basis, your tasks will include:Providing legal counsel to the senior management, particularly in construction and consultancy law, as well as areas like corporate law, competition law, public procurement, intellectual property (IP) rights, and data protection (GDPR)Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements, particularly in large projectsLegal support for ongoing projectsManaging disputes and complaints, both internally and in coordination with external lawyersConducting legal training in various areas of law and further developing templates, tools, and processesCorporate restructurings and legal housekeepingYour skills. Attracting and nurturing a diverse group of high-potential team members is at the top of your agenda, as is creating an inclusive, caring, and trusting culture in your team.On top of that, you will have:A Norwegian or Swedish master’s degree in laws or jurisprudenceExtensive experience from a law firm or as an in-house counsel, preferably specializing in the consulting and construction industries, contracts, public procurement, and business lawKnowledge of and hands-on experience with standard contractual terms in the consulting and construction industries, such as NS 8401/02, SSA, NS 8405/07, NTK, FIDIC, etc. or similarStrong experience managing disputes, especially in the early stages with a solid business understanding and the ability to communicate complex legal matters to stakeholdersExcellent communication skills in English and Norwegian or SwedishHigh levels of responsibility and knowledgeA place to work and so much moreAt COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world.
