Our client, a leading research and development company, is seeking a Researcher to join their team. As a Researcher, you will be part of the Lab Research department supporting product development engineers through physical property and optical testing/characterization. The ideal candidate will have strong observational and documentation skills, excellent teamwork and communication skills (written and verbal), and creative problem-solving skills which will align successfully in the organization.Job Title: ResearcherLocation: Maplewood, MNPay Range: Up to $24/hourWhat's the Job?Prepare routine and novel samples for analysis via SEM or AFM analysis using ultramicrotomy, ion milling, and other conventional techniques.Operating SEM or AFM and collecting data.Complete basic image processing and data analysis.Organize generated data into communicable reports.Support product development engineers through physical property and optical testing/characterization, sample prep.What's Needed?Bachelor of Science degree (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related discipline)2 years experience working in laboratoryKnowledge of, and experience with high resolution SEM imaging of a wide variety of materials (ex. metals, silicon, polymers).Knowledge of, and experience operating the AFM, optimizing scans for non-routine samples, and comfortable with routine maintenance.Familiarity with SEM or AFM sample preparation techniques such as ultramicrotomy and ion milling.What's in it for me?$24 per hour, paid weeklyMedical / dental / vision insuranceOpportunity to work with a leading research and development company.Potential for growth and development within the organization.Flexible shift options.If this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
