Kamehameha Schools is hiring for an Intern to support our Water Resource Department. This position will provide admin support to include emails, management of well and stream diversion database, creation of templates to manage field data and research, assisting with development of water education, outreach and curriculum, and engagement in cross-collaboration with other entities within Water Resource Management that are outside of KS.
This is a one-year internship, part-time with possibility of full-time hours. Applicants must be primarily located within the State of Hawai'i and be current students to qualify. Graduates within 1 year of graduation will also be considered.
Though this position is primarily located at our Kawaiaha‘o Plaza office, this opportunity allows for remote work to be based out of other locations within the State of Hawai‘i.
Job SummaryInterns are responsible for adhering to the program parameters of an internship plan for the assigned department(s). Such a program plan is intended to give exposure to the intern of key processes and workflows of the assigned department(s) and to help the intern gain real-world knowledge of business operations.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsible for adhering to intern program guidelines in the department(s) assigned. Must complete a variety of tasks designed to give maximum exposure to work processes. Position expected to learn new and improve existing skillsets and apply them to practical situations at Kamehameha Schools.
Position RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements listed.
High School Diploma or GED.
Enrolled in a post-secondary education program, or have graduated within the previous year.
Proficient in the use of the PC/Mac and standard office software.
Preferred Qualifications
N/A.
Physical Requirements
Frequently sits, performs desk-based computer tasks and grasps light or fine manipulation, talks or hears.
Occasionally stands and/or walks, writes by hand, and lifts and/or carries, pushes and/or pulls objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Rarely twists, bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs, reaches or works above shoulder, or grasps forcefully.
Working Conditions
This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
Work is conducted in an office/school environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but evening and weekend hours are often required to meet goals and objectives.
