In this role, you will work across many aspects of Anduril’s business, from helping obtain authorizations to fly or emit, to implementing compliance auditing and supporting our internal teams as a primary interface to Compliance. This position is based in Washington, DC or Costa Mesa, CA.Anduril is a fast-growing company at the early stages of growth. Consistent with this fast growth, members of Anduril’s Legal Team must be resourceful, creative, and eager to take ownership of complex matters. The Compliance Analyst role will require creativity and resourcefulness to implement and manage efficient, high-compliance processes for complex rules, with a singular focus on helping Anduril deploy its path-making technology into operational settings for the United States and its allies. In this role, you may also work on other aspects of Anduril’s business within Legal however the primary issue areas will be supporting aviation and spectrum. Experience across both is not expected, but a willingness to learn and adapt is.The Compliance Specialist will be expected to take responsibility for significant, material projects, which will have a significant impact on the company’s business. Anduril fosters a diverse, collaborative culture with tremendous opportunities for ownership and professional growth.WHAT YOU’LL DODrive development, implementation, and administration of our compliance programs for flight operations across the entire spectrum of Anduril products and business lines.Partner with internal stakeholders to support processes and internal workflows as required to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DOD), Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other related regulatory agency requirements.Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders in the preparation and submission of all required documentation needed for flying authorities, including Certificates of Waiver or Authorization (COAs), Special Airworthiness Certificates, and any other necessary filings.Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders in the preparation and submission of all required documentation needed for spectrum authorizations such as FCC Special Temporary Authority filings and renewal.Work with Compliance Counsel to communicate strategic advice and guidance, conduct reviews of current and new regulations to determine impact on company operations.Legal research in the areas of aviation and spectrum; and with assistance of Compliance Counsel analysis and drafting of legal memoranda.Facilitate and maintain aviation and spectrum related compliance records. Provide ownership and day-to-day management of Anduril’s Compliance queue, and ensuring SLAs and quality of support are being kept.Work closely with the engineering, operations, and EHS teams to ensure integrated compliance solutions.Support customer growth by supporting Anduril’s commitment to compliance with the law and contract ethics.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS6+ years of compliance work in spectrum and aviation.In-depth understanding of FCC regulatory requirements, in addition to Special Temporary Authority (STA) application and renewal processes.In-depth understanding of FAA regulations, such as 14 CFR Part 107 rules, waivers, COAs, exemptions or other processes and experience obtaining as well as preparing requests for these various authorizations for unmanned aircraft systems.Experience implementing DOD aviation procedures and records requirements such as DCMA 8210 Ground Operations Procedures. Knowledge of military flying directives and remotely piloted aircraft operating procedures.Experience working with manned aircraft personnel and familiarity with National Airspace System.Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining compliance processes.The judgment and initiative required to own multiple projects from end-to-end, whether guiding an Engineering Team through the application approval process to operating under regulatory authorizations while also handling unexpected issues that may arise in defense or start-up companies.Capability to manage multiple complex tasks and work efficiently.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) security clearances.Willing and able to travel at least 15% of time.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSSignificant compliance process management experience.Combination of in-house/government experience.Experience with engineering, software, or other technology.Experience working directly with the FAA, DOD or FCC regulators.
