We are seeking an ambitious engineering professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and gregarious professional with a passion for helping others and building positive relationships. This role is for a candidate who is self-motivated, exhibits a positive approach, has a strong work ethic and demonstrates strategic big picture thinking. This position will work closely with senior level program engineering management.Technical responsibilities include:The PE performs as the technical lead over the assigned engineering team on a program to include leading/participating in program peer, gate, and design reviews, supporting program management reviews (PMRs), and coordinating technical activity amongst the program IPTs.The PE performs weekly/monthly Cost Account Management (CAM) reviews with IPTs and is responsible for technical, cost, and schedule performance for the engineering content on a program.Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts.The PE receives engineering direction from and is accountable to a Program Engineering Manager (PEM), who has overall Program Engineering responsibility for successfully proposing, developing and delivering Product Line solutions.Responsible for improving upon existing processes or establishing new systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation, including championing new concepts or technologies.Recommends tactics and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.Demonstrated ability as an independent, proactive leader who works well within a team.Ability to build relationships, handle interpersonal interactions and cope with difficulties, both internally and externally.Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to interface with senior civilian government, DoD and industry leaders.Strong analytical skills and demonstrate ability to formulate analysis from multiple resources, ask critical questions with customer and stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to systematically measure performance using a risk management approach; identifying and weighing technical, schedule and cost risks associated with maintaining and upgrading the Training System.Qualifications and Education RequirementsBS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience requiredMinimum nine years plus of prior technical, project experience with both Traditional and Agile Program Execution methods working as a leader, developer, or technologist.Military or Defense industry experienceProven success in a fast-paced development environment and possess a willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressureAbility to provide and receive constructive criticismStrong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks.Experience with Clearcase, Clearquest, DOORs, and Earned Value Management (EVM) or similarMust have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance that has been granted or renewed in the last 5 years.Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to the start of employment.Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS)Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.Preferred SkillsExperience within Modeling and Simulation industry.Experience performing as primary technical interface with DOD customers.Experience working with Business Development to cultivate follow-on work and new program opportunities.Experience with DevSecOps practices and popular tool sets for management, automation, and deployment (Atlassian, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, or others)Experience in Open Mission Systems/Universal Command and Control Interface (OMS/UCCI).Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and experience.Experience using modeling resources.Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)Experience using earned value management systems to manage a team's cost and schedule performance.Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian tool suite, GitHub, GitLab, AND/OR Jenkins.Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward).Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities.Current Special Access Program (SAP) access.Salary Range: $127,700 to $150,200Please note: The actual compensation rate is subject to the evaluation of the following factors (but not limited to): the candidate's work experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and market.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for their job.
