Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYProvides County-wide information, assistance, and access to available resources for older adults. Advocates for clients needing assistance by linking them to services.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSOne (1) year of general office skills.A valid Driver's License issued by the State of Utah may be required to operate a vehicle.Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant may be required to pass a pre-employment background check.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvides specialized administrative and clerical support and assistance for the Outreach program.Performs customer service functions. Provides information and assistance regarding division services, activities, or other issues.Advocates for clients needing assistance by linking them to services. Consults with clients and families regarding service eligibility requirements. Educates and provides unbiased counsel to clients and families regarding programs and services, including Medicare and Medicaid.Attends community and program activities and special events. Assists in researching, developing and preparing events and materials used for public education, presentations, and workshops.Ensures program records and information are maintained and stored per retention schedules and policies.Enters and collects data and assists in report preparation and distribution.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)Knowledge of:Business English and mathematicsModern office practices and proceduresSkills and Abilities to:Produce, edit, and proofread written documents, forms, and charts using advanced skillsWork with computer software related to job-specific dutiesCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writingProduce written documents, forms, correspondence, labels, and charts using business EnglishPerform multiple tasks, act independently, and work with minimum supervisionUnderstand and follow broad objectives and instructionsGather and condense relevant and useful information from a large scope of sourcesThis position is open until filled. We will review resumés as they come in.Additional InformationADDITIONAL INFORMATIONThe Outreach Program connects older adults and families to services and resources that help them explore options and assist with independent living.
