Job Description
The Worker’s Compensation Coordinator is a key member of our staff who works in conjunction with physicians, mid-level practitioners, office, and clinical staff to provide patient care management, administrative functions, and engage in regular employer communication in WellStreet's fast paced, high-energy clinical office environment. This position reports to the Sr. Worker’s Compensation Case Mgr.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong and Effective Communication Skills
• Independent worker with great work ethic
• Willingness to travel to different centers as necessary to support Work Comp. (WC) business
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team-oriented manner
• Ability to participate in initial and ongoing training as required
• Ability to conduct business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, cooperative, sensitive, respectful, and kind with dealing with patients, visitors, the public, and all colleagues
• Excellent customer service skills
• Energetic team player
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment
• Healthcare experience a plus
• Agility EMR experience a plus
Responsibilities
• Understand the process for checking in WC patients in the clinic (and check-in as necessary)
• Review “Work Status” documentation for WC injuries prior to patient discharge
• Regular communication with the Work Comp. Case Mgrs. for WC injuries
• Facilitate State Referrals for WC Injuries
• Work with Insurance Claims adjusters for WC injuries, referrals, and care plans
• Send daily text messages for WC injury re-check appointments
• Monitor and review recordables for various clinics
• Monitor patient visits and send out Non-Compliant Letters at 30-day mark
• Monitor WC Email and respond to requests
• Monitor Active/Open Case file with a goal of closing active cases within 90 days
• Send text messages and make phone calls for 30-day No Show (done twice/week)
• Regular communication with Clients, Patients, and Providers
• Other duties as assigned
