The Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) located in Montgomery and Tuskegee, AL is seeking an energetic Infectious Disease Physician to provide consultation and treatment for patients in all patient care settings and may have attending physician duties when needed.Outpatient clinics may be held on both the Montgomery and Tuskegee campuses. He/She chairs or participates in committees and workgroups and collaborates with the Infectious Control Nurses. He/She participates in student and resident training programs.The infectious Disease Physician may have on-call time and may work off-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays as priorities demonstrate a need.Must provide direct patient careMust provide excellent customer serviceQuality management/Performance ImprovementMust meet appropriate performance measuresUtilization review and managementEvidence-based practiceMust provide administrative and other functions as assignedWork Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. May be required to work weekends, holiday, and on-call as needed.Salary Range: up to $215,000 per yearRelocation/Recruitment incentive may be available to a highly qualified candidateSelected candidate may be able to apply for education loan assistance thru the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Participation is based on funds availability.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)Must be proficient in written and spoken EnglishDegree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.Preferred Experience: Board Certified in Infectious Disease.
