About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP Finance Controller to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission to provide financial freedom. The successful candidate will be responsible for all accounting functions, including the development and maintenance of financial controls, and will work closely with the legal and compliance teams to ensure the implementation of policies and procedures that support the company's financial operations. This role demands a professional with a strong background in accounting and controllership, particularly within a financial services, big tech, fintech, or startup environment. The VP Finance Controller will lead a team in a high-volume, fast-paced setting, and must be adept at managing the full spectrum of accounting activities, from daily operations to strategic financial planning. Applicants for the VP Finance Controller position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in the field, with a CPA accreditation or equivalent. Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and experience with SOX compliance is essential. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in establishing and reengineering operational practices, as well as experience in the payments industry or a similar high-volume transactional environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in scaling private companies and/or taking a company public, and the ability to work effectively with senior executives while also mentoring and leading junior staff. Strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines are also key attributes for this position.
