Assistant Preconstruction ManagerJob ***** The Assistant Preconstruction Manager reports to the Preconstruction Manager and the Senior Preconstruction Manager and is responsible in assisting with Preconstruction services from initial intent through construction documents for assigned projects. The Assistant Preconstruction Manager must have proficient knowledge of the construction divisions and be able to quantify and manage specific trades to provide accurate pricing proposals.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in providing preconstruction services to our Clients and Operations teamsWork in team environment and handle multiple aspects of budget and bid proposalsPrepare written scopes of work for various tradesReview and understand technical and financial information being presented by SubcontractorsHave well-round knowledge of the major trades and components of building a construction projectWrite RFI’s during the pricing phase of the projectsAssist in provide costs savings solutionsMake and influence decisions with multiple projectsCommunicate with subcontractors and suppliers on a routine basisAssemble deliverables both internally and externallyReview work product to ensure process and quality are consistently being achievedOn-going training of Project EngineersWork and be productive with minimal oversight
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field, required(2) to (3) years field experience or close involvement with projects under constructionCritical thinking, problem solving and decision-making in pressure situationsUnderstand construction drawings and specificationsExperience with project scheduling and phasing of projectsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsClose attention to detailAnalyze technical informationAble to work well under deadlinesMicrosoft Office Suite, with high level of proficiency using ExcelOn Screen Take-off (OST)Adobe products, including BluebeamHITT Contracting, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
