About the Employer The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools office acts as an intermediate service agency between the California Department of Education and the 33 school districts in San Bernardino County to help meet the educational needs of all children county-wide. Job Summary Under the direction of the California Association of Health and Education Linked Professions (CAHELP) Joint Power of Authority (JPA) Chief Executive Officer, the Program Specialist, Special Education, provides consultation, coaching, one-to-one and group presentation, classroom support, and instructional and behavioral strategies for general educators, special education teachers, resource specialists, designated instructional and services personnel and others providing instructional services to children and adolescents with special needs. Requirements / Qualifications Expertise in Special Education must be demonstrated on the resume or application packet. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Possession of a master's degree in special education, or a related field from an accredited college or university; Possession of a valid California Special Education Teaching or Pupil Personnel Services; Five (5) or more years of experience working in/with special education programs; Three (3) years of experience working with special education programs; Knowledge of current state and federal regulations related to special education.
