Description
The Bankruptcy Member Solutions Specialist manages accounts in bankruptcy, ensuring compliance with legal requirements while implementing effective collections strategies. This role involves working closely with debtors, attorneys, and other stakeholders to navigate bankruptcy and maximize recovery within a respectful and ethical framework.
Essential Functions
Review and analyze bankruptcy filings to determine the status of accounts.Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to bankruptcy cases.Communicate with debtors, attorneys, and trustees regarding bankruptcy proceedings and activities.Provide clear and accurate information about account balances, payment options, and settlement negotiations.Stay updated on bankruptcy laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all interactions.Prepare, monitor and interpret the necessary legal documentation required for court filings and creditor meetings.Develop and implement effective strategies for recovering debts from bankruptcy.Monitor and evaluate recovery efforts, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal results.Recommend appropriate loan workout plans, as applicable.Maintain up to date information on lending and home buyer assistance programs; assist with connecting members to the credit counseling services.Generate reports on the status of bankrupt accounts, collection efforts, and recovery rates.Present findings and recommend improvements to management.Address inquiries and resolve issues from debtors with professionalism and empathy.Maintain a positive and cooperative relationship with all stakeholders throughout the bankruptcy process.Provide support and training for other Member Solutions partners regarding bankruptcy matters.Requirements
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred, but not required.3 years minimum experience in collections, bankruptcy, or a related field is required.Strong understanding of bankruptcy law and processes.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Proficient in using collection software and databases including Pacer.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and collection management software.Empathy and patience in dealing with distressed individuals.
