Under general supervision, provides information system user support on a continuing basis either by phone or site visit. Analyzes, designs, and implements software modifications to meet users' needs. Evaluates and troubleshoots user problems, procedures, and requirements to streamline business processes. Provides support and installation of network, control, and data access equipment and troubleshooting of software and hardware systems. May develop and conduct training programs for software/hardware users.
All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
Job Responsibilities
Provides quality customer service to all customersDesigns, configures, and tests computer hardware, networking software, and operating system softwareDiagnoses hardware and software problems and replace defective componentsEscalates problems to vendor and/or developer for advanced debugging or software correctionEvaluates new technologies or solutions to improve service and efficiency of systemsMonitors network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made for future changesOperates consoles to monitor performance of the computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and usePerforms data backups and disaster recovery operationsPerforms routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control recordsPlans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardwarePrepares user instructions and documentation for the installation and operation of software and software upgradesPerforms necessary maintenance to support network availabilityMust be able to travel in a 12-county regionParticipates in necessary Emergency Preparedness, as directed by managerMinimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
AND
Six months of education or experience in information security, privacy, system/network administration and support, or application development
AND
training and experience necessary to independently provide technical support to computer users in an assigned office/geographic area
