is seeking a (GIS) Geographic Information Specialist
(Andalusia office)
Under direction, uses Geographic Information System (GIS) to design, create and provide the reliable products (including maps, digital data, reports and statistics) for our fiber optic and electric networks, to serves as a vital interface between outside and inside personnel by providing services that integrate field activities with the inventory, billing, and engineering information systems, and to be facilitated through the processing of work orders and staking sheets while communicating with the associated personals as needed.
Applicants wishing to apply should meet the following minimum requirements:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or Geography
with two to three years' experience in related drafting or mapping field (utility) preferred, or an appropriate combination of training, education, & experience.
Must possess a valid state driver's license.
Must have advanced knowledge of relational database concepts and skills in maintaining relational databases and in linking with Geographic Information Systems, and Cartography concepts.
Proficient in the ERSI software Suite including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS for Server, ArcGIS for Desktop (ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro), ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS mobile applications.
Must have skill to
use AutoCAD software, Futura GIS & CrescentLink preferred.
Ability to detect, isolate, and resolve (troubleshoot) application hardware and software problems. Must be able to develop and maintain comprehensive geographic information system and databases including hardware/software; update GIS
map systems and system models daily and maintain accurate records & documentation. Must be able to post data to GIS databases; publish maps to services & packages.
Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the GIS databases & software including license management.
Applicant must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends in emergency situations or as required; must be willing to participate in special training programs as requested.
Applicant must also
pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
