The Ethics & Compliance function is a globally integrated team within the second line of defense of the firm. This role reports to the Director of Ethics & Compliance, Labor & Employment and will preferably be based in one of our US or Europe hubs with other global locations considered.

Your impact within our firmYou will work as part of the firm's global compliance team playing an important role in managing regulatory obligations, conducting assessments of & remediating compliance risk programs (including but not limited to employment, immigration, and human rights). You will serve as a strategic thought partner and program manager to the global Director of Ethics & Compliance, Labor & Employment. You will develop/refine the functional strategy including prioritization of compliance risk areas, compliance testing frameworks, etc. You will drive and shape the firm's approach and framework to identifying and assessing inherent and residual compliance risks, and apply those approaches and frameworks on existing processes, capabilities, etc. across various departments at the firm. You will drive and shape the firm's approach, framework, and operating model for identifying and managing global regulatory obligations in a systematic, repeatable, and efficient manner. You will also create enhancement plans for compliance programs which includes defining awareness and education campaigns, developing controls and monitoring approaches and design and maintain escalation and issue management processes. You will maintain and develop the relevant policies or other documents needed to manage compliance risks and you will craft reports and key presentations to update firm leadership on the state of compliance as well as regulatory initiatives. You will develop close working partnerships with our broader Legal and Risk functions to understand our legal obligations for specific laws and requirements pertaining to labor and employment-related issues. You will be expected to interact with firm stakeholders to raise awareness of labor and employment trends, emerging issues, remedial actions, or enhancements to the program. You will participate in firm labor and employment-related compliance strategy initiatives, develop and execute KPIs, and otherwise support firm-related labor and employment compliance initiatives.

Your qualifications and skills

Undergraduate degree with a concentration in business, law or relevant discipline with ability to practice law in the United States a strong plus5+ years' professional experience with preferred exposure in regulatory affairs, policy making, legal advice, or compliance3+ years' professional experience in a corporate strategy, management consulting or similar role with high degree of project management skillsExperience or strong interest in relevant global laws and regulations and an ability to quickly learn local legal differences in various countries of McKinsey operationsDemonstrated experience working in a cross-functional environmentAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize and balance competing, time-urgent demands and geographiesPassion for people development and carries a demonstrated track record of enabling a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive environment for all colleagues; ability to manage, build, lead and recruit teamsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)Outstanding English written and oral communication skills, including clear and concise writing and editorial skills, with strong personal presence and credibilityAbility to work across all levels of seniority, cultivating trust-based, peer-counselor relationships
